Ship in trouble

Here's a rough illustration I did a year ago for my bf's dad's blog. It's accompanying a story about a Danish ship, a drunk crew member and... well, chaos.

Studies

I haven't posted ANYthing on this blog for too long now, 'cause most of what I've been doing recently, I can't show yet. So to prove the blog is still alive, here are a few colour/anatomy/facial studies and an unfinished illustration I'm experimenting on.
At the moment I'm studying colour a lot and trying to make use of bolder, livelier colour combinations.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Spring. Here in Denmark it's still snowing occasionally, and though Danes complain about it a lot, it's not a new climate trend here. At least the sun is popping out to radiate warmth and good vibes a lot more now. :)

Character Design

A quick, loose and sketchy dragon priestess. Her left eye is what often happens when you choose a life of dragon petting, or that life chooses you.

I've been drawing so much lately that I just wanted to check that I haven't forgotten how to paint.

Happy New Year, btw! :)

Trick or Treat Rider

Happy (or terrifying) Halloween everyone! :)

A fair few lessons learned with this personal project.
E.g. that there's definitely a limit to how big a canvas size I should work with in Photoshop in the future. Phew!

Here's a step-by-step for your pleasure:

One of Many Winters: Excerpt 1

Here is another painting and excerpt from the upcoming story "One of Many Winters" which is one of the stories in The Nightmare Theater anthology. More excerpts from the story to be released soon!

"Ole Lukøje swiftly glided over the long, bowed bridge that connected Gray Street to the vacant grounds of Riverton Elementary School. Whispers of water could be heard from a distance; the accumulated ice had stifled much of the river’s flow. A flock of noisy larks trotted in and out of a frozen bush at the school-end of the bridge..."

A collaboration with my Indian friends, the creative and talented Kabir Shah (painter) and Vidyuth Dileep Singh (writer).
